Amid ADOR vs. NewJeans discord, Bunnies wonder if the girl group will still be able to use their name once they ultimately leave HYBE.
On November 28, members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein called for an emergency press conference and announced that they are leaving ADOR officially on the 29th.
While the label insisted that they are still artists under ADOR, the five idols are steadfast about starting anew with their former CEO Min Hee Jin, with the tagline: "NewJeans never die."
On this day, the members also hinted at their firm decision by changing their profile pictures in the fandom-communicating app, phoning, and bidding their farewell to fans here.
Minji used a famous "Inuyasha" meme in South Korea when resigning, which originally contains the phrase:
"Goodbye, everyone. I am leaving to look for my happiness and break from all the burden of the world."
With this decision, Bunnies and K-pop fans are curious about what will happen to NewJeans' name, as they have to let go of this if they will really leave the label.
During the press con, the members said:
"At midnight on the 29th, we may not be able to use the name NewJeans for the time being, regardless of our will."

Some fans recommended them to use a new name, but the quintet planned to fight for it.
They said:
"However, the essence of the five of us as NewJeans will not change. We have no intention of giving up this name."
Hyein said:
"For some, the name NewJeans may seem like a trademark issue, but for us, it's not a simple issue. From the day the five of us first met until now, we've done everything together under the name NewJeans. We will continue to work hard to secure the rights to the name."
