K-pop girl group aespa has proven its impact in the music scene with "Supernova."

On December 2, NME officially announced its "50 Best Songs of 2024" list, ranking the most dominant standout records of the year. The behemoth list included tracks from artists worldwide, including a few K-pop shout-outs.

The list included Rosé for her viral duet with Bruno Mars in "APT." (No. 14), ILLIT for their breakthrough bop "Magnetic" (No. 27), KATSEYE for their dazzling pop debut "Touch" (No. 43) and KISS OF LIFE for their sensational comeback, "Sticky" (No. 46). While all should be commended, aespa was the only K-pop group that managed to break into the Top 10.

Placing in No. 9, aespa's hit track "Supernova" earned the coveted spot. The outlet touched on how the song caught the attention of NASA, which supported the quartet's song. NME noted how the record also affirmed the girl group's capabilities in threading "uncharted territory" across the music scene.

"Supernova" is the pre-release track of the group's first-ever studio album "Armageddon," which was released on May 13.

With aespa gaining the upper hand in the rankings, the group also secured the top spot as the No. 1 K-pop song on NME's list.

On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), aespa's fans, MYs, celebrated the girls' achievement. Read their reactions below:
