A third-gen idol revealed how Jeongyeon rejected his request for a TikTok challenge collab — and the TWICE member's reason was so personal it made fans cackle.
Recently, A.C.E Byeongkwan communicated with CHOICEs (fandom) through a broadcast where he also shared an anecdote with his senior idol, TWICE Jeongyeon. Although the latter idol debuted earlier than him, they were both born in 1996 and became close friends after he trained at JYP Entertainment for two years.
However, things didn't go as planned, and he ended up debuting as A.C.E under Beat Interactive.
On November 20, the boy group just had a comeback with "Pinata." Since then, they have been actively promoting on music shows and social media platforms, such as TikTok, doing their dance challenge with other idols.
On December 6, TWICE will also return with their 14th mini-album "Strategy," together with Jeongyeon after taking a break due to health concerns. This means that the two groups' activities will overlap for weeks and fans immediately asked for their collab.
To the fans' surprise, it seemed like Byeongkwan already asked the female idol prior to their comeback, but shockingly, Jeongyeon hastily declined — but her reason made CHOICEs side with Jeongyeon.
Byeongkwan narrated:
"Was it last Friday? I called and told her that I heard about their comeback and requested if I could do (our) challenge. But she replied like this, 'I never hear anything from you, but (you only contact me) to film a challenge.'"
He then shared a more detailed story of how their conversation went, with Jeongyeon replying, "Who is this?", when he contacted him. Thinking that she deleted his number, he introduced himself but she clarified that she still had his contacts yet his KakaoTalk was missing from her phone.

When Byeongkwan then said that his only purpose was to ask her to do a challenge, the TWICE member responded:
"You only contact me for things like this, I already did it before (so), no."
But he is not giving up and revealed his plan of personally meeting Jeongyeon during their music show promotion to give her their album then asked to film with him while on his knees.
Hearing this story, even Byeongkwan's fans agreed that it was the male star's fault this time and sided with Jeongyeon's real and personal reason for refusing. The male star recognized this and agreed that he was also with her.
Meanwhile, after the story, both ONCEs (TWICE fans) and CHOICEs were just happy that the two maintained their hilarious and cute friendship.
