IU has been confirmed to work alongside Byeon Woo Seok in a new drama, but Korean netizens are criticizing her for her past dating history.
On Nate Pann, a post garnered over 200k views after the author compared IU to historical figure Empress Wu Zetian, the only female emperor who ruled in China. During her time, it was recorded that she had many men in her life aside from her late husband, Emperor Gaozong.
The OP then expressed their aversion to how IU also gathered the top idols and actors as if building her own "harem" and wrote:
"As (IU) gained more experience and influence in the acting industry, it feels like she's collecting all the incredibly handsome guys that she couldn't date and everyone would envy — one by one through dramas."
The post's author showed skepticism about her personality as they recalled how she would mention Song Kang during a movie interview with Kang Dong Won for "Broker."
