On tvN's variety show You Quiz on the Block, ROSÈ opened up about her friendship with Bruno Mars, surprising viewers and hosts alike with an impromptu phone call to the singer.
ROSÈ expressed regret that Bruno, who was supposed to come on the show with her, ended up not being able to follow through on the appearance due to visa issues.
In an attempt to make up for the absence, she attempted to phone the "Treasure" singer, adding that though he is normally "shy," he's proactive about attending events in Korea.
ROSÈ added that the two had met a year ago when she attended Bruno's concert in Seoul and was inspired by his impressive performance, prompting thoughts about a potential collab. The BLACKPINK member went as far as to attend the concert's afterparty in an attempt to meet the singer, though he had left earlier than she'd expected.
The two were given a chance to collaborate a year later, with "APT." being one of three songs she sent Bruno.
Reflecting on the chart-topping success of "APT.", ROSÈ revealed that the more experienced elder advised her, a workaholic, to savor the joy of crafting a hit and to indulge in the process.
"Bruno sometimes tells me to enjoy the moment. Things like this don't come often," she admitted.
The BLACKPINK member also opened up about missing the group, turning to the girls on the track's hectic release day.
"I missed them a lot. Even on the day the song came out, I video-called Lisa for over an hour," she said.
"I got a lot of calls, but I said I only talked to you. I even texted with Jisoo for an hour, and Jennie sent me a video. We're all so busy and I miss them."
