YG Entertainment has officially responded to the reports of WINNER member Song Mino's "poor" performance in his public service.
On December 17, the "Run Away" singer faced an exposé from Dispatch, which contained a lengthy report detailing the idol's inadequate fulfillment of his service as a social service worker at the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility.
In the report, Dispatch visited the facility earlier on November 11 but couldn't find the idol in the workplace. Despite Dispatch's returns on dates November 12 through 15, the outlet still wasn't able to meet him.
Dispatch also got in touch with Mino's manager at the site, referred to as Manager "L." This led the outlet to sleuth on Mino's daily working time, which was eventually followed by the manager's refusal to provide attendance records and CCTV footage due to privacy concerns. Furthermore, the idol's sick leaves and annual leaves were also cited.
YG Entertainment released a statement on the controversy.
"It is hard to confirm the details of our artist's public service," they said.
"However, the reason for a sick leave is an extension of the treatment he had been receiving before he started his service, and all other leaves were used in accordance with the regulations."
Mapo Residents' Convenience Facility also shared that Mino complied with the regulations in his service and will soon release another statement to clarify their take on the idol's issue.
