BIGBANG's Seungri has made his return to Korea after being released from his Burning Sun prison sentence.

The idol was a key figure in the 2019 entertainment and sex scandal that involved several high-profile celebrities and industry members at the Seungri-owned Burning Sun nightclub.

A November 2018 alleged assault of a male clubgoer at the Gangnam nightclub by an employee led the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to launch an investigation, which quickly unraveled the club's alleged involvement in prostitution, drug trafficking, and police corruption.

Sports Kyunghyang reported that Seungri had been spotted early January in restaurants and bars in Gangnam.

In captured photos, Seungri donned casual wear, sporting a cap and a hoodie. The idol is reportedly said to visit bars so often that he is seen twice a week, where he quietly drinks with his acquaintances before leaving.

Seungri was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison for his involvement in the Burning Sun scandal after announcing his retirement from the entertainment industry and was released in February 2024.

Since his release, the BIGBANG member has been mostly spotted overseas, including his attendance at a party at the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix with Taiwanese stars Bang Jo-myeong and Ga Jin-dong, whose activities were restricted due to drug charges. The idol has also attended various clubs, according to citizen sightings.
