TWS has finally released their official lightstick, but the merchandise received divided opinions from netizens due to its eccentric design.
On January 6, Korean netizens established a community thread, titled, TWS' Lightstick Being Teased In Real-Time. The thread's author posted the group's official video for the lightstick's reveal. In the video, the lightstick was unveiled to have a rectangular shape, which can also retract and change its colors.
The video also displayed that the lightstick will be accompanied by adorable stickers that represent the TWS members.
The post included reaction tweets from Korean fans, who poked fun at the lightstick designs.
"As soon as the light stick came out, it only led to the creation of mocking memes," one commented.
In the thread, some netizens argued that the lightstick wasn't successful in bringing out TWS' charm and personalities.
One netizen commented, "The lightstick doesn't scream 'TWS' to me."
"Its design looks fine, but it doesn't match TWS," echoed a second fan.
While some netizens found the lightstick "adorable," others compared the lightstick's design to an ice cream bar. International fans also joined the discussion and added they felt the merch was "unique" compared to the common "dome" lightsticks.
"It's so cute and I want it," a netizen remarked.
"It looks like an ice cream and the more you see it, the cuter it looks," another stated.
