Super Junior's Yesung is the latest idol to express their discontent with agency SM Entertainment with the company's 30th-anniversary concert on the horizon.
The 40-year-old idol, who has been signed to SM Entertainment since Super Junior's debut in 2005, revealed his grievances on the fan communication platform Bubble.
"I occasionally see questions about SM Town, but since it's an event for a company I've been with for over 20 years, I will try to participate as much as possible," he said.
Yesung explained that SM Entertainment had neglected to involve him in the production of his own music.
"However, I have been unable to participate much in the album's music," he said. "I am now tired of discussing the cold treatment of group songs and I don't want to talk about it anymore, so please understand that I want to focus on my performances first."
Solo artist Taeyeon, formerly a member of Girls' Generation, also took to the platform on Monday to explain that a lack of will was not the reason she'd dropped out of the upcoming SMTown Live 2025 concert.
"It's not because I lack enthusiasm or didn't want to do it. I have genuine love and dedication for the stage," she said. "I'm seriously considering this because I didn't receive the support to do my best."
Red Velvet's Wendy explained in a statement that she'd discussed with the company about skipping out on the show over a month ago, but was surprised when the announcement was made just days before the first show, set to take place in Seoul on January 11.
"Hello. You probably saw the announcement already or maybe you haven't yet, but the discussion with the company happened a month ago yet the notice only went up today," she said. "I apologize since there must have been a lot of ReVeluvs waiting for Red Velvet's five-member stage. But since it is our 30th anniversary, there will be various stages prepared. I hope you have a good time. Thank you and I'm sorry."
