JYP Entertainment's latest boy group KickFlip held their debut showcase to commemorate the official release of their first six-track mini album Flip it, Kick it!
The showcase was held at Seoul's Yes24 Live Hall on January 20.
"We worked so hard for this moment," leader Kyehoon told reporters at the showcase.
Kyehoon, born in 2004, was selected as JYP's top candidate from their audition process in 2016, proceeding onwards to spend nearly a decade as a trainee under the agency.
"All seven of us stuck together and practiced so hard for this moment," he continued.
"We'll show you how much we've got. KickFlip will try really hard. Please look forward to what we'll show everyone."
KickFlip debuted as a septet boy group — consisting leader Kyehoon, Amaru, Donghwa, Juwang, Minje, Keiju, and Donghyun — with their single "Mama Said," which has acquired nearly six million views to date.
After JYP settled on the final member lineup, the group trained for two years before debuting.
The group has cited labelmates Stray Kids as their "role model."
"We took part in making the debut album in the ways we could, which we feel so grateful for," said member Donghwa. "But we'll try harder and put our names on the creative process more and share our thoughts and art with the audience, just like Stray Kids."
Following a pop-up store and their showcase, the group is scheduled to take part in music show programs and host meet-and-greets with fans.
"Just as the senior groups wrote new history through television music shows, we hope to write our own history on various programs and show people just how much we have within us," said Amaru.
