The hit Netflix show, the brainchild of director Lee Sung Jin and studio A24, followed two strangers Danny and Amy, whose road rage incident entangles them into their personal lives.
American-born, BM is known as the leader of the K-Pop co-ed group KARD, with the rapper embarking on a solo career in June 2021 with his single "Broken Me."
After wrapping up Amy and Danny's fate, the upcoming Beef installment will follow a new couple (Spaeny, Melton) who witness an alarming fight between their boss (Isaac) and his wife (Mulligan). The feud causes a further escalation of favors and coercion, revealing the behind-the-scenes in the elitist world of a country club and the dealings of its Korean billionaire owner.
While character profiles and details are currently being kept hush-hush, BM is rumored to be playing a former tennis pro running the tennis shop at the country club. His peer Jang is rumored to be playing the billionaire owner's personal translator, while Fichtner is believed to be playing a country club member, with Hoover as his trophy wife.
The first season of Beef, starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, premiered in 2023 at Austin's SXSW Film Festival and soon after, conquered awards season, netting three Golden Globes, eight Emmys, four Critics Choice trophies, two Gotham Awards, two Film Independent Spirit Awards, two SAG Awards, and PGA, WGA and AFI Honors.
Similar to the original season, Season 2 will consist of eight 30-minute episodes with Lee Sung Jin returning as the show's executive producer and showrunner.
