Daniel Choi, "My Mom Passed Away When I Was 5, So My Family Separated"

Actor Daniel Choi revealed that he lost his mother when he was 5 years old, and said that it's hard for him to act anything related to 'mother'.

According to tvN on the 26th, during the interview held with Daniel Choi for 'Baek Ji Yeon's People Inside", Daniel Choi lost his mother when he was 5.

He said, "After we lost our mother and my father's business went bankrupt, I went to my aunt's house and my brother and my dad went to some other relative's house, so we lived separated", revealing the hardships of his childhood.

But he continued, "But I never thought those times were hard or unfortunate. If I'm a little occupied and struggling, I think it's uncomfortable and inconvenient but not unfortunate."

He also continued, "But it does affect my acting a lot. At first, I really didn't know how to act love for mothers, and why it could be sad at all. In the drama 'Good job, good job', there was a scene where I had to cry after being scolded by the mother. At that time, I asked the mother in the drama, actress Kim Hae Sook, that I don't know why I'm supposed to cry because I don't have a mother. Then she asked if my mother had passed away and told me 'Then I'll let you know what a mother is supposed to be like, so just follow my lead', and I was really thankful."
