G-Dragon Reveals BIGBANG's Current Situation: ‘No, We Don’t Talk About...'

G-Dragon, the iconic leader of BIGBANG, has embarked on a new journey as a special professor at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), a role that has garnered significant attention both within the academic community and among his fans worldwide.

For G-Dragon, stepping into the role of a special professor at KAIST represents a fresh and exhilarating challenge.

"This was a completely new challenge for me, too. I was confused yet excited as if it were my first day at school. I looked around the mechanical engineering department, and it felt like I was at an amusement park because there were so many interesting things.

KAIST is filled with people who explore their fields with a passion. Like creators, they spend hours in the labs and dorms with unclear boundaries between daily life and studies. These students were similar to my past self as I practiced alone through trial and error."

He expressed admiration for KAIST's community of passionate individuals who blur the lines between daily life and academic pursuits.

Addressing the current state of BIGBANG, G-Dragon acknowledged the departure of members.

"Our members? Ah, now there are three of us. No, we don't talk about the current scene when we're together. Of course, we talk about topics that come naturally or are hot issues. Don't you think we are difficult to approach for junior artists?"

The departure of members has elicited a spectrum of emotions among fans, reflecting on social media their admiration for the group's impact and the inevitable changes over time.

Tweets lamented the departure of T.O.P while recognizing the group's influence and expressing respect for the members' decisions.

  • I think that's the best for them. I guess TOP is enough with tiring idol life. I believe he is pursuing another goal in his life while enjoying the result of his hardwork as Bigbang. I respect him for that.
  • I think he is just protecting TOP. Since TOP alr quit, they cannot just simply bring out his name because some fans and antis are lurking around and waiting to bash them. Plus, we all know that there are only FOUR of them in the beginning, and SR inclusion was decided
  • Top said in one of his interview for a magazine i think that there will be no TOP of Bigbang for a while now. So it is clear that he wants to find his self or be his self and have to enjoy it. So I'm guessing that even though they are not band mates now, they are still chingu
  • I am sad TOP left but he made it clear he's not going to promote in S.Korea anymore after how the press viciously attacked him when he was arrested for marijuana use. (imho I feel it drove his depression and anxiety to potential suicide). And I hope he talked with everyone first.
  • sad but i have to accept their decision, the important is BIGBANG GROUP IS NOT DISBAND EVENR THEYRE JUST 3

When contemplating the concept of eternity, G-Dragon shared philosophical insights.

"Considering our finitude, eternity is impossible...but I think some things can be considered eternal. I understand the desire for love, faith, and friendship to last forever.

But if you ask me if eternity is a good state, that's a different problem. I believe that not all good things stay good, and not all bad situations stay bad forever.

If there is no change, would we be able to feel the variety of emotions we do now?"

His reflections touched on the transient nature of circumstances, highlighting the value of change in fostering emotional depth and growth.
