Two years after Wanna One was formed as a project boy band composed of Produce 101 Season 2 contenders, 9 out 11 members gathered to commemorate their anniversary.

The reunion — which care nearly eight months after their last concert as a group — was attended by Kim Jae Hwan, Bae Jin Young, Park Ji Hoon, Hwang Min Hyun, Lee Dae Hwi, Ong Seong Wu, Ha Sung Woon, Park Woo Jin, and Lai Kuan Lin — who flew all the away from China to join the occasion.

As confirmed by his own agency, Kang Daniel was not able to make it to the anniversary dinner, held on August 7, due to conflict of schedule.

“Kang Daniel wasn’t able to attend the meet-up with Wanna One members… It was difficult for him to attend the reunion due to unavoidable schedule related to overseas fan meetings,” Konnect Entertainment — where Daniel sits as the CEO -- shared in a statement released on August 8.

Meanwhile, Wanna One leader Yoon Ji Sung is currently serving in the army so he wasn't able to join the gathering. However, reports relayed that he contributed to the said event by paying for the bill, arranging the dinner costs with the help of his manager.

On Twitter, Ji Sung also posted a status featuring Wanna One’s albums and photo collections.

Ji Hoon, on the other hand, took to Instagram to share a short yet sweet message celebrating their second anniversary. He captioned a photo of a lamppost under the night sky with a lyric from their song “Flowerbomb” — “We are forever.”

Kuan Lin also posted on Instagram a snapshot from the final concert held last January.

Even though their contract has expired, the boys of Wanna Be fulfilled their promise to meet again to commentate their anniversary.

Prior to their reunion, the members’ respective agencies have released statements that they have knowledge about Wanna One’s “personal gathering.”

“We are aware that Wanna One members are planning on meeting up to celebrate their second anniversary. However, we are not aware of the specifics as it is their personal gathering,” Swing Entertainment, Jae Hwan’s agency, previously stated.
