The Golden Disk Awards is the venue to select and settle Korean pop music that has been receiving acknowledgment for a year. Since the first event in 1986, fairness, objectivity, and authority has been their very first priority.

The 34th Golden Disk Awards with Tiktok was held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, broadcasted through JTBC, JTBC2, JTBC4, and Naver V Live. Lee Seunggi and Park Sodam hosted the second-day event on the 5th of January. Top Korean stars such as Jung Woosung, Kang Haneul, Yoon Seah, Jang Kiyong, Jang Dong-Yoon, Jang Hyuk and Han Yeseul appeared as presenters at the ceremony, and the most notable of them were famous stars, Pengsoo. The 2020 Golden Disk Stage is also an awards show full of great performances and artists, and for sure, the fans were able to watch the stages from their idols with the best performance of all time.

The artists who enjoyed the pleasure of winning their awards performed splendidly with their all-time top performances, and also staged a select show with the concept of "Winter Wonderland." Also, MONSTA X's Kihyun, Minhyuk, and Hyungwon were thrilled to fans with "Myself" from "Bazzi." While Seventeen's Woozi, Jeonghan, Dokyeom, Seungkwan, and Joshua were thrilled with the song "Poong" from their sixth album.

Moving onto the awards, idols such as TWICE, NCT Dream, SEVENTEEN, Baekhyun, MONSTA X, Sehun & Chanyeol, GOT7, NU'EST, and Super Junior won this year's Best Album category. For Best Original Soundtrack, Gummy won with Hotel Del Luna's OST "Remember Me." For Cosmopolitan Artist Awards, NU'EST and TWICE took home the trophy, and Best Performance goes to (G)-IDLE and ASTRO.

This day of awarding was solely focusing on Physical sales, and BTS became the main character of the awards night. Followed by the Digital Song of the Year from the first day of awards, the group received Album of the Year for the second day which takes them home with a Daesang Sweep for the third time and makes BTS as the group with the most Daesangs of all k-pop artists with 39 Daesangs. BTS has also taken the Tik Tok Golden Disc Popularity Award, Fan's Choice K-pop Star Award, and Best Album (Bonsang) in the show.

Fans have been celebrating all around the world as RM, the leader of the group, has addressed the issue regarding chart manipulation and the media on his speech as they received this year's Daesang.

"There is one thing that I want to talk about too. We (BTS) are blessed with luck, and thanks to the fortune we received, we can get to the spot, saying what we want to say. But honestly, there are a lot of artists who are not or cannot, who are in places that can't be seen, sincerely making music and working hard to perform. I hope that in 2020, it is going to be a decade in which their resonance, efforts, and sincerity are fair, just, and do not go in vain. I hope that things that have been done wrong in the 2010s can end with the 2010s ending."
