OMEGA X Fans Left Baffled With Revelation of CEO's Abuse on Members

In the past months, OMEGA X fans FOR X have expressed their increasing worry for well-being of the 11 members of the group.

The concerns began back in August of this year, when the OMEGA X members were reportedly banned from using any of their social media accounts by their label SPIRE Entertainment. Likewise, this also meant that the members couldn't communicate at all with their fans, which raised concerns as the members always communicated with FOR X daily.

Following their seemingly social media ban, the group went on to their 2022 OMEGA X WORLD TOUR [CONNECT: Don't Give Up] beginning in North America. Unfortunately, their world tour was also mired with issues, such as fans complaining of how messy and disorganized the world tour was following the cancellation of concerts and abrupt change in venues.

But what really caused the collective worries of not just FOR X, but also from the K-pop community, was the revelation that the OMEGA X members were being physically and verbally abused by their own superior, SPIRE Entertainment's CEO Kang Seong Hee.

The revelation of their abuse came after the group wrapped up their final show in Los Angeles, when several fans shared on social media having witnessed the members being abused by a female in public, which was later confirmed to be their CEO.

SPIRE Entertainment later issued a statement, claiming that the members and CEO were just in a heated discussion regarding their tour, which resulted in "voices being raised." They also claimed that the group and CEO had ended on good terms.

SBS News later released an exclusive report that contained a statement directly from CEO Kang Seong Hee herself. Here, she claimed that the fans who shared the incidents were anti-fans of company, and that she is "usually extremely polite" to the members.

Unsurprisingly, the CEO received even more backlash after a video showing Kang Seong Hee physically and verbally abusing OMEGA X leader Jaehan, who was at the time experiencing a panic attack, was released online by SBS.

The physical and verbal abuse towards the members happened in public while they were in the United States, with more witnesses coming forward to share similar instances of abuse.

In light of this, the members were also reportedly left stranded in Los Angeles on their own, with SPIRE Entertainment cancelling their plane tickets and claiming it was to prevent fans from being on the same flight as the group, despite the staff members who worked with the members throughout the tour returning home to South Korea as scheduled.

Days after, the members reportedly returned home to South Korea after paying for their own plane tickets.

OMEGA X's Future Now Uncertain as Group Suspends Activities Amid Abuse Scandal

Following the scandal, there have been no news regarding the members upon returning back to South Korea. However, several of their schedules, including their segment on NAVER VIBE, were cancelled.

But on November 4, it was reported by JTBC News that OMEGA X has suspended indefinitely their future activities for the time being. Their CEO's abuse scandal also overlapped with the Itaewon tragedy, in which South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol had issued a national period of mourning for the latter.

Not only that, but the production company for the upcoming BL (boys love) web-drama A Shoulder to Cry On, which stars OMEGA X members Jaehan and Yechan, had announced the postponement of the web-drama's release in light of the abuse.

With the issues surrounding the abuse, and their CEO having control over the members' activities and such, OMEGA X's future has now become uncertain.
