English Premier League: Ben Foster to extend in Hawthorns

The supporters of West Brom gained further boost with the news that the goalkeeper Ben Foster will extend his stay to the Hawthorns as he signed a new contract with the club.

The England's international named Ben Foster has signed a four-year deal with a further 12-month option in favor of the club; effectively pledging his future to the Baggies until 2019.

"When I signed here permanently, I said this is the sort of club I could see myself finishing my career at," Ben Foster declared.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper has become an essential member of Albion's side and the last season received both the Supporter's and Players' Player of the Season awards - a feat he also achieved in 2011/12.

Foster, the Leamington-born player, went on to make history just this summer as he became the first ever West Brom player to represent England at the World Cup in more than four decades, securing a clean sheet in the Three Lions' goalless final Group D encounter against the Los Ticos team or what we known as Costa Rica.

He is also tagged as the former Manchester United and Birmingham City keeper who first signed a permanent deal with the club in summer of 2014. He has done 54 BPL appearances for the Baggies and played a crucial role in dragging the club to retain their Premier League status last season after four months out with a broken foot.

Foster added in an interview with the www.wba.co.uk: "And that's exactly how I felt when the club said they wanted to negotiate a new contract. It was something I wanted to get sorted as soon as possible. I'm very happy here. It was a very obvious and easy decision for me and my family."
