English Premier League: Leonardo Ulloa to wear No. 23 shirt

The newly promoted Foxes nodded to transfer for Spanish striker from Brighton and Hove Albion. And its official already, New Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa will wear the No.23 shirt.

Leicester City have said to agree the transfer of Leonardo Ulloa from Brighton and Hove Albion with manager Nigel Pearson explaining that the change can "move the club forward" as they are gearing up for their return to the Barclay's Premier League.

Manager Pearson admitted that he identified Ulloa, 28, as a top target transferee "quite some time ago" as he used the terms and he expressed his delightful emotion at adding the striker to his Championship winning squad.

"He complements the forwards we already have very well and his attributes broaden the options available to us, which will be important this season," said Pearson. "I'm delighted we've been able to add him to the squad."

Pearson added: "He has adapted extremely well to the English game in a relatively short period of time and I'm sure he will have a great deal to offer us in the Premier League."

Ulloa scored16 goals as Brighton reached the Championship play-offs last season. The Argentinean forward's last-gasp goal in a final day win at Nottingham Forest fenced a top-six finish, but the Seagulls fell short against Derby County in the semi-final round.

He found the net 26 times in his 58 appearances during all of his competitions for the 18-month spell at Brighton, having joined from Almeria in January of 2013.

Looking at his curriculum vitae, the Striker began his career in 2002 with second division side CAI in his native Argentina. He also joined San Lorenzo's top-flight side three years later and after spells with Arsenal Sarandi and Olimpo. Finally, he joined second division outfit Castellon in 2008.

Speaking of Castellon, Ulloa net 30 goals in two seasons with Castellon and earned a move to La Liga side Almeria.

Ulloa could not prevent Almeria from relegation, but 28 goals have been done in the second tier that caught up the eyes of Brighton. He proved an instant hit after a January move as he laid hands in helping Brighton secure a top-six finish in the 2012/13 season. It boiled down into a Championship semi-final defeat to current Barclays Premier League club Crystal Palace.

We will see Ulloa play wearing the No. 23 shirt at the King Power Stadium, and he is Leicester's fourth summer signing after Marc Albrighton, Matthew Upson and Ben Hamer joined the club.
