Miami Heat Roster And Supporting Cast Gets Improvement Even After James' Departure

The Miami Heat roster took a huge below at the start of the off-season as its biggest superstar and 4-time MVP LeBron James chose to return to his roots in Cleveland, pairing with all-star guard Kyrie Irving, and even potentially landing the best power forward in the NBA in Kevin Love.

Miami was left in shambles, and there were also rumors that Chris Bosh is considering a more competitive Houston Rockets that has the 'best two-guard' in James Harden the 'best center' in Dwight Howard (all according to Howard).

Thankfully, the prayers of the Miami faithful was answered and instead of moving to his home town in Texas, Bosh signed a max deal with the Heat.

Heat president Pat Riley then started to patch things together with a good deal for veteran two-way forward in Luol Deng. New acquisitions Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts will also prove to be good additions to an already solid core of Bosh and Dwyane Wade, who signed for a new contract with the only NBA team he knew.

To complete the cast, Riley brought back Udonis Haslem, Mario Chalmers and Chris Andersen to retain the Heat's playoff and championship experience.

So is this Miami Heat roster better than the one they have before the off-season began? Minus James which is arguably the most polarizing player in the NBA, the Heat lost a leader that will take them to hopefully greater heights this season.

However, both Bosh and Wade have had leadership stints in the past and can easily adjust to pressure. Bosh in particular was in the limelight in Toronto when he posted career highs in points and rebounds when he was their go-to guy.

The 29-year-old All Star does not need to post the same numbers and play the same long minutes with this new-look Heat, he only needs to take the helm and direct the team to what it has failed to do last year - win a third NBA title at least in his stint.
