Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Lenovo Preparing A 6" Monster Phone With QHD Display, 3GB RAM, 16MP Camera

While all the world is brimming about the Xiaomi Mi4's cheap price tag and top-notch specs, one of the upcoming Android phones for 2014 is all set to make a big splash as well.

Lenovo, another Chinese brand is reportedly working on its upcoming flagship device, and would soon be unveiled.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Lenovo's marketing general manager Wang Yan has posted a teaser image of the high-end phone on his Weibo account. Lenovo has been doing well in the midrange market where it offers affordable devices with quality specs, but in the flagship territory, it lags behind the perennial favorites.

Dubbed as the Lenovo K920, the high-end Android phone will bank on the success of the K900 which was released last year.

Following the current trend set by Oppo and LG, the new smartphone from Lenovo will get a QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution as well, but with a much bigger screen real estate at 6 inches. That is a vast improvement over the FHD and 5.5-inch display of its predecessor.

Also on board is a Snapdragon 801 chipset, a 16MP primary camera with dual-LED flash, and a 5MP front cam for selfies. There is a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5GHz which is at par with what every flagship phone has to offer these days.

The Lenovo K920 also joins an elite few who have the QHD display and 3GB RAM combination. Other Android flagships with the same specs include the Oppo Find 7, the LG G3 and its LTE-A version, as well as Samsung's Galaxy S5 LTE-A.

The phone is expected to run on Android 4.4 Kit Kat out of the box, and said to boast a 32GB of built in memory.

The announcement for Lenovo's new Android phone will be on August 5, and we'll make sure to bring you the latest updates and details regarding pricing and availability.
