Barclay's Premier League: Bournemouth 0-1 Southampton
The Southampton tasted victory with their pre-season preparations over Bournemouth at the Goldsands Stadium.
Lloyd Isgrove grabbed the victory with the only goal of that match in the first half as Ronald Koeman's charges, featuring Artur Boruc, Gaston Ramirez and newly signed Dusan Tadic, bracket their fourth win jotting a clean sheet form as many friendlies.
Isgrove hit when he bumped into Nathaniel Clyne's pinpoint cross with a diving header on 20 minutes, although Saints might have stolen the bacon more comfortably with more clinical finishing. Graziano Pelle and James Ward-Prowse came close before the interval, while Emmanuel Mayuka and Sam McQueen threatened in the second half without extending the visitors' lead.
Meanwhile, Harrison Reed celebrated his 19th birthday by signing a new contract for the Saints. He is said to be one of the promising midfielders.
The England Under-19 international has kicked off in all three of Saints' pre-season friendlies so far for this summer, and is crossing fingers of breaking into Ronald Koeman's first team in the forthcoming campaign.
