Derrick Rose News: Coach Thibs On D-Rose During USA Training Camp: 'His Explosiveness Is Back'

It has been a while that we have read exciting Derrick Rose news for the past two years, but now we may want to tune in to how the former MVP is doing during the Team USA camp in Las Vegas. 

The 25-year-old Rose is trying out to join the 12-man squad who will represent the US at the World FIBA Championships in Spain next month. 

According to a report from Bleacher Report, sources say that Rose showed sparks of brilliance and glimpses of his older self during the training camp in Vegas. 

The words of Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau explains it, "His explosiveness is back. It's all there."

As for Rose, it looked like he is going to be very patient this time in returning back to form. 

"I wanted to prove everybody wrong at that time," he said during the 10-game stretch wherein he exerted too much effort in 'coming back' and returning to his MVP form. "I just wanted it too, too bad."

"This time around, I just know that I've got to let the game come to me." 

Would that mean that we will not see the old Rose who won the MVP as the youngest NBA player ever? We can argue that in a way, that seems to be the case. 

However, both coach Thibs and Rose mentioned that the Bulls star should be more patient. That means this upcoming NBA season, Rose would be aiming to 'control the game' as opposed to 'dominating' it. 

We may not see the old Rose running havoc all over the court and breaking through defenses all by himself with his sheer athleticism, that's because he cannot rely on his knees all the time anymore. 

Instead, Rose would become more patient in the offense, involve more team play and showcase his talents and skills in controlled bursts, which would actually be more helpful for the team as he becomes unpredictable. But it will not hide the fact that this type of play will be quite an adjustment. 

But as Rose puts it in his own words, "This is only the beginning of a long journey, a long grind."
