The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions are focusing on the fringe players. Michael Beasley is a former no. 2 overall pick just behind Derrick Rose. Can he rise above his troubles and be a contributor? What if he's given a chance with the Lakers?
The 2008 NBA Draft is one of the most talented in recent years. It already yielded an MVP in first overall pick Derrick Rose. The No.2 pick is Michael Beasley, who turned out to be a grave disappointment to the Miami Heat. Imagine, he was picked ahead of Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka, The Lopez twins, OJ Mayo and man of the moment Kevin Love.
The Miami Heat, who gave him a second chance last season, is less than eager to keep him. There are other teams that are showing interest, and they understand what Beasley is now-a contributor who can score of the bench but only for limited minutes. Teams now know what to expect from this player, and now they can decide whether to fit him into their roster. The Miami Herald quotes Beasley's agent:
"[Other] teams have called expressing interest,There has been quite a bit of activity the past four days. Teams are encouraged by his career-best field-goal percentage (49.9)...and his attitude when asked to play a reduced role."
Should the Lakers consider him to fill out their roster? How about other teams that need a quick scorer? Will LeBron also recruit him to Cleveland?
There's a myriad of possibilities for Beasley and he will most probably find himself in an NBA jersey soon enough.
