Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Xiaomi Continues To Sell Out Mi3 Units, But How Many Does It Actually Sell?

There are lots of upcoming Android phones in 2014, though for consumers who want quality handsets at very affordable prices, Xiaomi's lineup consists of probably the best bang-for-buck smartphones.

In fact, the Chinese brand's mobile phones are selling so well that even the almost a year-old Xiaomi Mi3 is still selling out in markets where it has recently been made available.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Xiaomi posted recently that in another flash sale, it sold out its Mi3 units in just 5 seconds!

The Mi3 was offered through Indian retailer Flipkart, where it sold out in a matter of seconds. Of course, like other flash sale announcements by the Chinese manufacturer, it does not mention the important details - like how many did it actually sell.

A week ago, the first Mi3 sell out in India took place, in a less impressive 39 minutes. Succeeding rumors claimed that Xiaomi only made 10,000 units available, so it does not sound to impressive at all anymore.

The Chinese manufacturer has been very vocal when announcing the successes of its recent flash sales, whether in or out of China, though the company always fail to provide the details.

The only instance where Xiaomi actually posted numbers was when the company's flagship, the Mi3 reached 10 million in unit sales, according to its CEO Lei Jun. He was so happy that he even announced the gold version of the Mi3 as a sign of celebration.

Xiaomi has been among the top Android OEMs already in spite being around for only 4 years. But as it continues to deliver high-end smartphones at extremely affordable prices, the once unknown company may even overtake other established Chinese brands like Huawei and ZTE, and soon catch up to Samsung and Apple as the top phone makers in the industry.
