Upcoming Nokia Phones 2014: 'Superman' Phone Will Be Nokia's Offer In Selfie-Heavy Market

In spite all the commotion going on within the Nokia department in Microsoft, there are still upcoming Nokia phones coming in 2014 that will certainly be quality handsets for consumers.

Since Nokia and Microsoft are looking for ways to sell more products, then they have to use something that has become a trend worldwide - the selfie.

While Android manufacturers have been upgrading the front sensors of their smartphones, people become more interested them particularly because it has been widely perceived that front cameras are no good compared to their rear counterparts.

But just in the case of Xiaomi Mi4's 8MP front cam, this can certainly be done.

And now, it looks like Nokia will be joining the selfie battle with a rumored smartphone dubbed 'Superman'.

In the report by GSM Arena, Nokia 'Superman' would get a 5MP front camera, a first for the Fins, which should pit the phone directly against the newly announced Sony Xperia C3 which has the same secondary camera resolution.

As for specs, the device will be pretty decent, boasting a 4.7-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, possibly a Snapdragon 400 chipset, and 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal memory.

Oddly, the specs of the Nokia-made handset include a 6.5MP rear camera, which we have not seen in any smartphone yet.

Other alleged specs include LTE support, a 2,200mAh battery and the latest Windows Phone 8.1 version.

In the report, another smartphone is reportedly in the works and is dubbed as Tesla. One of the upcoming Nokia phones for 2014 will allegedly get similar if not identical specs as the Lumia 830, which has been leaked online a few weeks ago. The branding, 'Nokia by Microsoft' label at the back is also said to be included.

It is shaping up to be another interesting quarter for Nokia and Microsoft, as the Android-powered Nokia XL makes it way to China, and the Nokia X successor, the X2 will make its way to the market soon.
