Nicholas Sparks ‘Best Of Me’ Movie Trailer And Release Date: Author Sad That James Marsden Replaced The Late Paul Walker For Lead Role?

Known for his tearjerker novels, another work of Nicholas Sparks will be recreated onscreen. The "Best of Me" trailer features James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan rekindling their romance after 20 years of being apart.

Marsden and Monaghan will be playing the roles of high school sweethearts Dawson and Amanda who were unable to fight for their love as teenagers because of several circumstances. Two decades later, they go back to their small town and meet again at a friend's funeral.

The film, which has a 1984 setting, also stars Liana Liberato, Jon Tenney, and Luke Bracey. The "Best of Me" movie trailer captures the significance of one's first love as well as the power of second chances.

Meanwhile, Sparks appears to be satisfied with the cast members although in December 2013, he did express his sadness for Paul Walker's death. The 'Fast and Furious' actor was originally chosen to give life to Dawson.

"I send my deepest sympathy to Paul Walker's family, all those close to him, and the legion of his fans. I am certainly one of those fans, and was thrilled at the possibility of working with him on 'The Best of Me.' His passing is a huge loss for all who respected him for his charitable efforts, and loved watching him on screen," Sparks wrote on his Facebook page.

In one of his previous interview with She Knows, the bestselling author also explained the importance of selecting artists who could give justice to the novel's characters: "As an author I think I'm always curious and anxious to see whether the actors will be able to capture the nuances I've imagined for my characters."
