Viber App: Expands Chat Base With New Features, Viber Now A RIval Of Skype?

Viber App is now trying to re-invent itself in the highly competitive free call and chat space. The call and messaging app firm, which has over 370 million users globally, recently launched a new feature which is the Viber Out.

Viber Out is available for computers that allow users to make outgoing mobile calls to other Viber users and to non-registered mobiles, making it a rival to Skype.

According to The Financial Express, earlier this year Japanese e-commerce Rakuten had acquired Viber for $900 million. Bullish on India, Anubhav Nayyar the country head of Viber India said, "India is one of our primary markets due to the growth surge of smartphones in the country and also because it is one of the fastest emerging markets in the world. We have decided to piggyback the smartphone growth and push Viber."

"Conversations are changing, it's all about richer conversations and today's generation wants to express themselves more vibrantly. We have seen that people in India love our stickers and use them in almost every messaging conversation that they have," Nayyar added.

Viber app offers features that two to three apps offer individually and most of it is free of charge. A users can transfer his chats, shared data to his laptop because the app has an auto-sync system which comes in handy for the corporate users who are comfortable with keyboards.

Viber app is downloadable for free in Google Play Store for Android smartphones and iStore for iOS users. It is an instant messaging app capable of sending instant messages and doing free call with the use of Wi-Fi connection.
