Lionsgate has confirmed its plan to open up "The Hunger Games" theme park following the success of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at the Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida which was launched in 2010.

Jon Feltheimer, Lionsgate's CEO, said during the company's first-quarter earnings conference call that the team's determined to bring "The Hunger Games" to life: "We're deep in conversations with prospective partners on four continents to explore theme park attractions and other location-based entertainment opportunities."

Feltheimer previously opened up about the possibility of having a theme park based on the dystopian franchise. He said that the company has been approached by representatives from two different territories. Apart from mobile apps, the CEO confirmed that the theme park might possibly be nestled in four continents.

"We're committed to extending our brands into exciting new businesses that create opportunities for our fans to engage with our properties at the same time they deliver significant incremental financial benefits to Lionsgate," said the company's chief marketing officer Tim Palen.

Fans are speculating that "The Hunger Games" theme park will include notable things from the books such as the Hob, Capitol, and of course, the Arena which witnessed the bloody battle of the Tributes.
