Barclays Premier League: Fernandez for Swansea City

Federico Fernandez from Serie A club Napoli completed a deal with the Swansea City as he grabbed his pen and paper for an undisclosed fee (due to international clearance). The said club has strengthened their defense plan with the joining of the Argentina international.

The 25-year-old football player gone by a medical test last Monday before finally signing on a four-year deal at the Liberty Stadium; he was said to own four appearances representing his country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup this summer.

After the disappearance of Qatari club Lekhwiya SC's Chico Flores, the Argentinian Fernandez, proposed Swans manager Garry Monk on a high choices at centre-back as he will contest for a place with the following players: captain Ashley Williams, Jordi Amat and Kyle Bartley. He will wear the No. 33 shirt.

As soon as receiving his international clearance, Fernandez is anticipated to go straight into the squad. This is for weekend's home match with Burnley. The Swans is seen to build on their opening Barclays Premier League winning experience at Manchester United.

Just a little background - Fernandez began his football career at Estudiantes and he has showcased his talent on loan at Getafe in Spain. He is believed to drag Napoli in third place for the Italian top flight last season and lifted the Coppa Italia. He is also featured in UEFA Champions League and to the UEFA Europa League champions too. The only thing is that he missed both legs against the Swans in the UEFA fixtures.

Fernandez has been capped 26 times by team Argentina. He is believed to help the team take home the 2014 FIFA World Cup title last month. The 1.90m defender becomes Swansea's seventh summer signing. He followed the arrival of the players: midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson of Tottenham Hotspur, goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski of Arsenal, striker Bafetimbi Gomis of Lyon, Marvin Emnes of Middlesbrough, Stephen Kingsley of Falkirk and winger Jefferson Montero of Ecuadorian side Morelia.
