Moto X+1 Release Date Announced, Rumors, Specs, And Leaked Photos: Release Event In Chicago On September 4th[PHOTO]

The Moto X+1 also called the Moto X2 has a September 4 release date.

Motorola is currently sending out invitations for its press event in Chicago on September 4. The invitations (with a big X and G on them) have pretty much said that this is the release date for the Moto X.

The phone has been the subject of several rumors and leaks, so it is quite likely we already know everything there is to know about the phone.

According to rumors, Moto X+1 will pack a 5.2" display that offers 1080x1920p resolution. The next gen Moto X handset will come with a 1080p full HD display and slimmer bezel. This is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD support, 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter, and 2900mAh battery.

Earlier rumors put the Moto X+1′s screen size at either 5.1-inch or 5.2-inch, so Hellomotohk's estimate is not far from what others have been saying.

Reports last week "confirmed from Motorola sources" that the global rollout for the new Moto X+1 and Moto G2 will begin on September 10th. This doesn't mean that's when all carriers in the United States will offer the phone, as AT&T had a short exclusive last year, but it's likely the phone will be available on all major carriers before the end of the month.

Here is another list of rumored Moto X+1 Specs.

  • 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080p Full HD Display
  • 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core with 2GB of RAM
  • 16/32GB storage with micro-SD expansion included
  • Android 4.4.4 KitKat
  • 12 Megapixel rear and 2.1 front cameras
  • Dual front-facing speakers (aimed at the HTC One M8)
  • 2,900 mAh battery
  • Tons of customization options
