‘The Amazing Spider Man 3’ Rumors: Can Andrew Garfield Wait As Release Date Of Third Installment Delayed? ‘Venom Carnage’ To Follow ‘Sinister Six’!

Sony is in a state of major flux after "The Amazing Spider Man 2" failed to meet their expectations. The next installment, "The Amazing Spider Man 3" might be moved back as much as 2 years as "Sinister Six" and allegedly even "Venom Carnage" might be placed ahead of it.

But the reality of filmmaking may take its toll. Andrew Garfield is signed on until "TASM 3" which was originally marked for a 2016 release date. In an interview with Collider, writer/director Alex Kurtzman revealed that "Venom" (rumored to be called "Venom Carnage") would follow "Sinister Six" which will be shown in 2016.

Asked about "The Amazing Spider Man 3" release date:

"KURTZMAN:  It's still in conversation.  Everybody is still figuring it out. It's all up for grabs, right now.  We're just trying to figure it out."

On where Venom is tentatively placed:

"KURTZMAN:  Venom will come after Sinister Six, I think is the plan."

Will he be directing?

"KURTZMAN:  Yeah."

Collider also brought up the topic of the female-centered superhero film and the fact that Black Cat has been identified to be in the film.

"KURTZMAN:  Anything is possible.  We are always looking for opportunities like that.  I can't say a whole lot about it, but I wouldn't rule anything out."

Will Black Cat be in TASM 3?

"KURTZMAN:  Possibly, sure."

Will there be a connection between "Venom" and "Sinister Six?"

"KURTZMAN:  Everything is still on the table, right now.  Because it's a universe outside of the Spider-Man universe, even though it's connected to it, those movies have to stand on their own.  So, we'll see.  We'll see how it goes."

Will Andrew Garfield be able to wait that long? He is reportedly under contract for "The Amazing Spider Man 3" but it was for a 2016 release date.

The Daily Star UK had a report related to that topic:

"A senior source at Columbia Pictures, which jointly owns the franchise with Marvel Entertainment, said: 'Andrew is already contracted to make two more films for release in 2015 and 2016.

But we are looking to tie him to the role for as many as a further four pictures given the huge success the franchise is enjoying. The part is pretty much his for as long as he chooses.'"

It has not been stated whether Garfield has accepted. But who would say 'No' to playing Spider Man?
