Kendrick Lamar’s New Album Updates And Rumors: To Feature More ‘Aggression And Emotion’ And ‘Grander Scale Storytelling’? Release Possible This Month?

The good kid from the m.a.a.d. city has been quite silent about his follow up LP to his critically acclaimed major debut album. Recently however, Kendrick Lamar has allegedly opened up in an interview about the upcoming album and provided two adjectives for fans to expect. On top of this, record labelmate SZA has said a little about what she thinks of what she's heard. Finally, with no official release date, some have begun to wonder if the album with suddenly appear (in Beyonce-esque fashion) before September ends.

According to an interview with Rolling Stone as reported by Rap-Up, Kendrick Lamar has stated that his upcoming album with feature more "aggression and emotion," than his previous album. Rap-Up also reports that Kendrick has revealed to Rolling Stone that the album will not have as many collaborations, and that there may be some tracks that didn't make the cut of "good kid, m.A.A.d. city" may appear on this album.

Although the interview with Rolling Stone in question has yet to be made available online, multiple sources are reporting the news. It doesn't sound unbelievable that Kendrick might refer to himself as aggressive, if one considers his recent song on Ab-Soul's album, "These Days." But his other labelmate SZA also commented on the sophomore effort from Kendrick. She stated in an interview with Complex as reported by Hip-Hop DX, "It really is amazing. It's incredible. It's next level. It's next level for sure. He was storytelling before, but now it's like on a grander scale."

While no one is truly certain as to what they can expect on the new LP, fans are beginning to speculate on when they can expect the album. Official reports from The Independent point to a fourth-quarter/winter release, but rumors are circulating that it may actually be around the corner. His most recent track with Chris Brown, "Autumn Leaves" was leaked ahead of Brown's album release, which has brought back focus on Kendrick Lamar's individual activity.. Most importantly however, if he hopes for the album to be in Grammy contingency, it will need to be released before September 30th.

Regardless of whether any of the rumors circulating are true, it's no question that Kendrick Lamar's next album is one of the most anticipated albums this Fall.
