Xiaomi Mi3 Review: Price Of Last Year's Flagship Could Go Lower As Mi4 Becomes Available, Could It Go Below $200?

If last year's flagship from the Chinese manufacturer is already available in your country and you're looking for a Xiaomi Mi3 review to help you decide, then this is it.

The Android-powered smartphone is arguably the best bang-for-buck smartphone today, and that is still the case even if it is already almost a year old.

Unlike other cheap Chinese Android phones, the Xiaomi Mi3 packs an elegant-looking design that will keep you thinking that it is worth more than $400 or even $500.

Its specs are still top-notch in the market as well.

The phone boasts a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB of RAM and storage options of 16GB and 32GB of built-in memory.

The camera department is also impressive with its 13MP primary camera and 2MP front cam. The good thing about all of these is that its price has been kept low in spite its increasing popularity among Asian markets where it has become available.

The Xiaomi Mi4 currently costs around $250 in India and the Philippines. But with the upcoming Xiaomi Mi4 flagship, we could still see the Mi3 getting cheaper as it becomes a midrange option.

When we compare the two flagships, the Xiaomi Mi4 certainly tops the Mi3 in terms of design, specs, features and other functions, thanks to a new version of MIUI.

However, when we talk about price, the Mi3 will obviously have the advantage.

For consumers who cannot afford the additional $50-100, then the Mi3 would still be the best option. But for those who are coming from a Samsung, Sony, LG or HTC flagship, the Xiaomi Mi4 is the no-brainer here.

We'll wait in the coming months whether Mi3 will get a price cut, but until the Mi4 reaches several markets overseas, expect last year's high-end model to still be the phone to buy for Android users in emerging markets.
