Motorola Releases Much Awaited Moto360 Smartwatch At The Grand IFA Fair In Berlin

Last week at IFA , Motorola released Moto360 smartwatch. The much anticipated device is descendant to the Moto Hint bluetooth, Moto X and apparently is its most significant device - an enhanced Moto G.

Being a huge success in the developing markets, Moto-G stands apart from other phones in the mid-range category. While other midrange phones from manufacturers like HTC, Apple and Samsung costs $400 excluding contract, Moto-G is well under $200 off-contract and therefore it faces less competition. Moreover, thanks to the updates coming in at regular intervals, users of the Moto G mobiles don't have go through the painful wait until carriers or manufacturers "optimize" every new version with its own skin and bloatware.

The enhanced Moto-G sports some significant changes to its form factor and now features a 720p, 5 inch screen which is 0.5 inches larger than its former version. As it features the same resolution resulting in a lower pixel density, there is barely any difference that can be noticed. The 2nd-gen Moto G features a microSD slot which enables its use to expand storage. The lack of this option was the cause of criticism in the original Moto-G; however, Motorola has addressed this concern effectively. Motorola recommends using cards not larger than 32GB for now but are hopeful of coming up with a software update that will make it possible in future.

Furthermore, it features an enhanced rear camera of 8MP, faster processing enabled by 1GB ram along with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapgragon 400 CPU. It gives its user a choice of 6 different tinted customizable removable backplate while the front of the phone comes in either white or black. Apart from this, unlike its original single rear-facing speaker, the Moto-G now sports front facing dual speakers.

The aboriginal Moto G was an apt phone for those who didn't want buying a phone burn a hole in their pockets . This 2nd gen version comes with enhanced features and in 16GB and 8GB variants, starting at $179 mark making it an ideal phone for the budget conscious people who are looking for a phone off contract in the mid-tier category.
