iPhone 6 Plus And iPhone 6 Pre-Orders Sets New Record In Sales!

Even though the Apple Online Store remained inaccessible almost until 3 AM (Pacific Time) and despite of the difficulty with placing an order in the Apple Store app, the pre-order for the iPhone 6 as well as iPhone 6 Plus have set a new record.  An Apple representative confirmed the new record but the exact number of iPhones sold was not revealed.

In reference to the order for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, At&T executive, Ralph de la Vega said, "It's amazing to see the volume". He further added that the demand for phones have grown considerably in comparison to last year and year prior.  In the initial stage of the pre-ordering period, users were unable to order device as a result of perpetual errors in the Apple Store app as well as owing to problems with carrier websites. It was not until 2:45 AM (Pacific Time), Apple's own online store started functioning. This was almost 3 hours after pre-orders were accessible in the Apple store app.

Owing to scarcity of iPhone 6 Plus, the estimates for supply and shipping moved to 7-10 days and this was even before the Apple Store app was up and running. Further, the shipping slipped to 3-4 weeks. Nevertheless, Apple has bountiful supply of the iPhone 6 along with many other models which continue to be available for delivery on 9/19.

Amid last year's opening weekend for iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, Apple sold over nine million handsets.  This year, it seems that this number will be effortlessly out done.

If you missed pre-ordering these classy iOS smartphones, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus can still be picked up from an Apple Store near you on September 19. Though you will have to wait in a line with other buyers; nevertheless, the phone is worth the effort.
