Ipsy September 2014 Bag Review [+VIDEO]: Pacifica Eye Pencil, Be A Bombshell Smooth Criminal Powder, Briogeo Deep Conditioning Mask, CAILYN Lip Gloss, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel

This month was my first Ipsy glam bag - read on for reviews for my Ipsy September 2014 glam bag, which included the Pacifica Eye Pencil, Be A Bombshell Smooth Criminal Powder, Briogeo Deep Conditioning Mask, CAILYN Lip Gloss, and Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polish! Watch my review video below (thumbs up or subscribe if you liked watching!).

The bag: The Ipsy September 2014 bag was a faux leather rectangular-shaped zip pouch. It came in a metallic gray color with four silver studs and a black zipper, fitting this month's theme of "Street Style."

Pacifica Natural Water-Proof Eye Pencil in Fringe: This small pencil seemed to be a deluxe sample size instead of a full-sized pencil, in a dark brown, almost olive-green shade. The line drawn comes out smooth, thick, and doesn't smudge after an entire day of wear on a rainy, humid Tuesday. Full price: $11

Be A Bombshell Smooth Criminal Powder: This finishing powder is supposed to act as a photoshop-like product that reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines and can be worn alone or over your foundation. The jar was tiny and very hard to get the right amount of product on without a small brush. At first I loved the effect of a matte finish on my oily skin, but as the day went on the silica seemed to dry out my face. Not sure if I'm going to use this often. Full price: $12

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair!TM Deep Conditioning Mask: This deluxe sample size 1 ounce pot looks like just the right amount for two uses of the deep conditioning hair mask. While I have neither dry nor damaged hair, the smell of this goopy product is enough to win my over. Admittedly I haven't tried it yet, but I can't wait to get this stuff on my locks! I'm also excited that it contains avocado, sweet almond and argan oils, keratin protein, rosehip oil, and aloe. Full price (for 5.25 oz): $26

CAILYN Art Touch Tinted Lip Gloss in Basic Instinct: I was disappointed when I found this in my Ipsy September 2014 glam bag because I'm not much of a lip gloss fan. I also though the frosted pink color was outdated and not appropriate for the coming fall season. However, after using it throughout the day, I really liked the texture and didn't find it too sticky or runny. The color actually looked more peachy on my complexion. My least-favorite product might have just become my most used product of this month's bag! Full price: $19

Sally Hansen Miracle GelTM Nail Polish in Redgy: Hands down (no pun intended) my favorite product of the Ipsy September 2014 bag - but that may just be because I'm obsessed with nail polish and couldn't wait to get my nails (sorry) on this Miracle Gel formula! My nail polish always chips way too fast, especially after spending so long waiting for each coat to dry. According to the instructions, this nail polish formula gives you 14 days of color and removes like regular nail polish - amazing! I can't wait to try it. I wasn't too excited about the color because I have so many nail polishes in similar shades, but this Miracle Gel may make me ditch my previous favorites. Full price: $15

The total value of my September 2014 Ipsy glam bag came up to almost $72 - a great deal considering I only paid $10! Did you get the same products in your bag? How did it differ? What did you think of your products this month? Let me know in the comments section below!
