Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: 64-Bit CPU Powered Desire 510 Pricing As Low As $99 On Contract, Boasts Sleek Design, Midrange Specs, LTE Connectivity

One of the upcoming HTC phones for 2014 will officially hit stores this Friday. 

The HTC Desire 510, which is promoted as an entry-level handset is one of the best choices in its price range. 

At only $199, the device is certainly one of the best-selling Android phones from a world-renowned manufacturer. However, taxes and other fees are still not included. In a report by CNET, the total pricing for the Desire 510 including taxes could reach $216, which is still pretty cheap. 

For those who cannot afford to get the phone off-contract, there are also several contract prices to be offered by Sprint, Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile. 

In the report by GSM Arena, Sprint will offer its Easy Pay installment scheme where subscribers can get the device at $0 upfront, but pay $8.34 for the next 24 months. 

Meanwhile, both Boost and Virgin Mobile will offer the device at $99.99 on-contract. 

Announced before the IFA event in Berlin, the HTC Desire 510 is the first ever Android device to pack a 64-bit chipset. The chipset, a Snapdragon 410 is made by Qualcomm. The chip maker has also manufactured the Snapdragon 615 powers the higher-end Desire 820, which made its debut a couple of weeks ago. 

Other specs of the Desire 510 include a 4.7-inch display with 854 x 480 resolution, 1GB of RAM, a quad-core CPU, a 5MP rear camera, a 1.2MP front cam, 8GB of built in memory and LTE connectivity. 

The device runs on a 2,100mAh battery, and Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat out of the box.
