HTC Smartwatch Still In The Works? Poised To Rival Apple's 'iWatch' When Both Wearables Become Available In 2015

The wearable market has certainly widened this year, but that does not mean it is already a booming industry. Compared to smartphones and tablets, smartwatches are still a hit and miss strategy, and most manufacturers have already tried to give it a shot.

The HTC Smartwatch has been one of the rumored devices in this genre, in spite any official announcement from the Taiwanese manufacturer.

Just the smartwatch announcement of its rivals like Sony (Sony Smartwatch lineup), Samsung (Galaxy Gear lineup), LG (G Watch lineup) and Motorola (Moto 360) are already cues that HTC's own wearable device could just be around the corner.

According to a report by GSM Arena, an insider who is familiar with HTC's plans for its smartwatch claims that the Taiwanese company will announce its smartwatch next year.

Some of the major selling points of the smartwatch allegedly include a stunning design, and Android Wear, just like recent wearable launches from LG and Samsung.

Like the manufacturer's flagship devices, the smartwatch would allegedly be focused on style and functionality. That means we should not be surprised if the device is made out of metal, and boasts a unique display.

As of now, HTC better focus on its smartphone market as it continues to lose profit every quarter. Hopefully, its new lower-midrange offering, the Desire 510, and the selfie-oriented Desire 820 which boasts an 8MP front camera, would salvage its last quarter of sales for 2014.
