Ipad Mini 2014 Release Date Set For October: New Features And Price Range Expected; Upcoming Generation Of Apple Tablet 30 Percent Thinner?
The new Apple iPad Mini 2014 release date has been set for October, presenting a number of upgrades from its second-generation predecessor launched a year ago.
Full details of the iPad Mini 3 have not yet been revealed but a report by Economic Daily News in Taiwan speculated that the new tablet will be 30 percent thinner compared to the iPad mini 2 with Retina display. The upcoming model would be around 5.25 mm thick, although tech experts stated that such a dimension would be unlikely.
The tablet will most likely retain the 7.9-inch display that the iPad Mini 2 has as well as the same 2048 x 1536 screen resolution. Experts also speculated that the new Ipad Mini 2014 release date will feature a third color - gold, which will match the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, according to the International Business Times.
A number of photos leaked which fans thought were the prototype of the Ipad Mini 3. Some of the visible features included the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, similar to the iPad 6 and iPhone 6. As for the price, the Ipad Mini 2 ranged from $299 to $429, depending on the storage capacity and was about $100 more expensive than the first iPad Mini, mainly due to the Retina quality screen upgrade. The new Ipad Mini 3 is expected to be available at the same price as the iPad Mini 2, although the latter is set to be discontinued as soon as the new model launches.
In a report by PC Advisor, the iPad Mini 2014 release date will be on October 21, 2014, where it will be featured together with the new iPad 6 and the OS X Yosemite. Most likely, the two devices will be using the new operating system.
