Cher Sued For Alleged Racial Discrimination; Dancers Reportedly Fired For Speaking Out About Sexual Assault

Cher got sued for alleged racial discrimination against black auditionees for her "Dressed to Kill" tour 2014.

According to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Cher got sued for racial discrmination after allegedly telling her choreographer not to hire a black female dancer, saying "We have too much color onstage."

The lawsuit stated that "The pattern of racism and discrimination continued to permeate the tour when [the choreographer Kevin] Wilson was prohibited by Cher and tour management from casting any dark skinned African Americans who auditioned, even if they danced better than their white counterparts."

Wilson was reportedly then asked to search for a white, blonde dancer. He also claimed that he and two other dancers got fired for reporting sexual assault done by their fellow dancer.

According to the filed lawsuit, "Cher was personally involved in the coverup of a sexual assault against a female fan by one of her other male dancer's while on Cher's Dressed to Kill tour."

The complaint recounted the incident as a male dancer inviting a female fan to his hotel room. The fan allegedly told on the incident to another dancer, Jacquelin Ballinger.

Ballinger reportedly told Wilson and Suzanne Easter about the incident. They allegedly made several attempts to make Cher and the tour management take action. But they claimed that they got declined and "were instructed to not tell anyone what had transpired."

Two of three back-up dancers were reportedly let go due to budget cuts. A claim which they refuse to believe because the tour was said to have grossed $59.4 million. The other one was reportedly cut because of her age.

Cher's representative debunked all the claims, saying "These are ridiculous allegations. They couldn't be further from the truth." Her lawyer also denied all allegations, saying they are "untrue and categorically denied."

Before Cher got sued for racial discrmination, she finished her 49 show tour in July. She is slated to perform another 30 shows in the next two months.
