Miley Cyrus To Face Fine, Detention For Disrespect of Mexico’s Flag After Angering Officials

Here she goes again! Miley Cyrus is again the talk of the town after TMZ.com reported that she allegedly desecrated the Mexican flag during a concert Tuesday.

The latest stunt she pulled caused the ire of Mexican officials, according to the news, and she could face fines and jail time of at least 36 hours for twerking and using a Mexican flag as a prop for spanking.

According to the an article in the Guardian, Thursday, the Mexican legislature is not all impressed by the pop star's disrespect of their beloved flag and has given orders to penalize Miley for the act.

The report said Cyrus is looking at a fine of $1,200 and detention. The report added that Mexican lawmakers are serious when it comes to their flag, in 2008, singer Paulina Rubio did note escape the official wrath and fined her for donning herself with only the Mexican flag and nothing else.

Miley was in Nuevo Leon performing when the incident allegedly occurred, as icing on the cake, the 'Wrecking Ball' hit maker was wearing a big prosthetic derrière, when one of the back-up dancer spanked her with the Mexican flag.

No make matters worst; the incident was during the Mexican Independence Day.

A Nuevo Leon State Representative told CNN, "I felt truly offended and annoyed by the fact that a foreign artist feels like she can come here and make fun of and mock our national flag on Independence Day. "She brazenly made fun of our flag."

Miley might have gotten away with stunts using the United States flag but this time, her action will be without consequences as the Mexican legislature already voted to make her accountable for her behavior.

Miley is on a concert tour in Mexico, and then will be concluding the show in New Zealand and Australia.
