Lana Del Rey World Tour Drops European Shows After `Born To Die’ Singer Fights Mystery Illness Not Because She Can't Sing Live

Lana Del Rey World Tour won't be making stops in Europe as the "Ultraviolence" singer battles a mystery illness.

In a statement, Del Rey's label, Polydor/Universal Music said "For medical reasons independent of our will, the artist has been forced to cancel all promotional activities planned in Europe over the coming days."

Lana Del Rey is still expected to perform five concerts in Austin and Mexico City in October.

Besides the concert dates, Del Rey had to cancel two private concerts in Paris and an interview with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.

The last post Del Rey put on Instagram was on August 11. Lana hasn't hit Twitter since July 30, though she hit James Franco's Instagram on September 13.

Ultraviolence" is probably the least club-friendly song released in 2014. A seething ballad with domestic violence-referencing lyrics, the title track of Lana Del Rey's latest LP doesn't exactly make you want to get up and dance. Not that stopped Cedric Gervais from turning "Summertime Sadness" into a crossover club smash in 2013. But still. It just seems... wrong.

Del Ray has complained of a mystery illness in the past. In June, she told Fader magazine "I'd been sick on tour for about two years with this medical anomaly that doctors couldn't figure out. That's a big part of my life: I just feel really sick a lot of the time and can't figure out why."

Lana Del Rey's live shows have come under fire from underwhelmed audience and some critics are already speculating that Del Rey cancelled the shows because she can't sing live.

In June Del Rey released "Ultraviolence," her third studio album. Ultraviolence debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The chanteuse has already released the singles "West Coast," "Shades of Cool" and "Brooklyn Baby" from the album.

Del Rey is still scheduled to perform:

October 4 - Austin City Limits Music Festival, Texas

October 6 & October 7 - Auditorio Nacional, Mexico City, Mexico

October 9 - Foro Live, Monterrey, Mexico

October 11 - Austin City Limits Music Festival, Texas
