Box Office Roundup: ‘Teen Wolf’s’ Dylan O’Brien Carries ‘The Maze Runner’ Into #1 Debut Ahead Of ‘Divergent’ In International Box Office, Liam Neeson Grabs #2 With ‘A Walk Among The Tombstones'

Although it's still early in the weekend, so far it looks like "The Maze Runner" is going to close out it's debut at number one in the box office. The film is getting decent reviews and has the added bonus of "Teen Wolf" star Dylan O'Brien to bring in Styles fangirls. Following behind YA novel adaptation is brutal action flick "A Walk Among the Tombstones" starring Liam Neeson, holding a strong box office gross at number two.

"How does it feel to be a male lead?' I'm like, ‘I feel like it's way cooler to be the female lead.' It's kind of too generic, a male lead. I think it's cooler that that [YA] trend is female-driven," says Dylan O'Brien in a recent interview with MTV. Despite how the "Teen Wolf" star feels about his performance in comparison to female leads like Jennifer Lawrence and Shalene Woodley, "The Maze Runner" is shaping up to give the "Divergent" franchise a run for its money in the international box office.

According to Box Office Mojo, "After a few quiet weeks, business should pick up substantially this weekend. Three major new releases hit theaters, and young-adult adaptation ‘The Maze Runner' will likely finish at the front of the pack." They go on to explain that, "even if The Maze Runner falls a bit short in the U.S., it does look poised for a solid international run. It opened well above ‘Divergent' in five markets last weekend, and expands into another 48 territories (including Australia, Brazil, Russia and Spain) this weekend."

Meanwhile, Liam Neeson continues to get run out of his action star persona with his latest film, "A Walk Among the Tombstones." Box Office Mojo expects the film to make $16 million this weekend and come in second place behind "The Maze Runner." Given it's current 66% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it appears to be a worthy draw amongst most critics.

It appears that the fall quarter of film is fully underway with good performances expected from two major studio releases however, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" will probably be the film to watch in the box office this quarter.
