Install Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update On Samsung Galaxy S4; AT&T Variant Receives Official Firmware

Until now, the highly-expected Android 4.4.4 KitKat update has not been released yet for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4. However, new firmware just arrived based on the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 users who wish to install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update can access the firmware via Over-the-Air process. According to Android Geeks, the file size of official Android 4.4.2 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 is around 121 MB and 977 MB. Explaining the huge gap of the file sizes, the post reads:

"The difference comes from the fact that there are users running Android 4.4 and they would need to install the first Android 4.4.2 firmware along with this latest Android 4.4.2 build. All the 4.4.2 KitKat build are grouped into a single download hence the 977 MB in file size."

Since the firmware, with build number 133UCUFNB1 is being rolled out in stages, it may take a while for the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to arrive in all AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 units.

After receiving the OTA notification, simply confirm the download and install the update.

Meanwhile, to manually check for the availability of Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy S4, go to Settings > General > Updates > Check for Updates.

Accordingly, the new Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy S4 AT&T brings in additional security patches, improvements on connectivity and updated Google apps.

Make sure to have stable Wi-fi connection when downloading and installing Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy S4 AT&T. Furthermore, users need to make sure that there is at least 50 percent battery remaining on the smartphone before proceeding to install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update.
