'The Big Bang Theory' Season 8 Premiere: Sheldon Returns! But Will He Finally Move In With Amy After That Kiss?

Fans of "The Big Bang Theory" were obviously eager to find out what's next for Penny, Leonard and Sheldon. The Season 8 premiere reportedly earned the highest ratings of premiere night, with almost 18 million viewers!

In the season 7 finale, we found out that Penny (Kaley Cuoco) is now engaged with Leonard (Johnny Galecki). So when are the two getting married?

Unfortunately, "The Big Bang Theory"'s executive producer Steven Molaro tells Hollywood life that the couple won't be getting married anytime soon.

But will they at least move-in together?

"As of now, Leonard and Penny are not in a rush to get married so the living arrangements as we know them will stay put. I don't think they're in a rush. They're happy, they're engaged and, like a lot of people, they may be engaged for a while," says Steve.

Plus you don't expect Sheldon to just pack his things and move, right? It's been 8 years and still can't give up his spot!

"Leonard and Penny also don't want to deal with the headache of putting Sheldon out because they know it will only make their lives harder," the showrunner adds. "That may be one of the reasons that they're also not in a rush to the altar...It shows how weirdly co-dependent Leonard and Sheldon are. I don't think you marry Leonard without kind of marrying Sheldon."

We also can’t wait to find out what’s in store for our other favorite couple Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialik)! It was a huge moment when Sheldon finally gave in and kissed Amy in Season 7. We hope they too will take their relationship to the next level!

Molaro says that Amy and Sheldon will be “on the same trajectory that they’ve been on since they met".

In an interview with TV Line, Parsons, however, hopes that Sheldon and Amy's relationship would move forward:

“I don’t know that we’re headed for the bedroom or the altar any time soon,” he said. “But, whatever… The writers have been so good with the pace of it, just bring more is all I would say.”
