Install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE via a custom ROM!

A new custom ROM based on Google's latest mobile operating system has been released, allowing the users of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE models to install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on their smartphone.

According to the list of specs on GSM Arena for the Galaxy Note 3, the latest and official update made available for the phablet is Android 4.4.2 KitKat. But thanks to custom Android ROM developers, especially the geniuses of the CyanogenMod team, a new firmware, the CM11 M10 has been released for Samsung's 2013 phablet.

Particularly, users can install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update via the CyanogenMod11 M10 on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE or the unit bearing the model number SM-N9005.

Furthermore, the CM11 M10 ROM is based on Android Open Source Project or AOSP. As described on International Business Times report, the custom firmware "is said to bring customisation options to boost device performance, new visual interface, shortcut for easy access to key apps and loads of personalisation options..."

Visit this report from IB Times to see the list of features available on CyanogenMod11 M10 ROM as well as the detailed installation instructions on how to install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N905.

But prior to installing the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 using the L-Droid firmware, there are some requirements and conditions that should be satisfied to ensure a successful installation process.

Check the model number of the phablet. Again, the CyanogenMod11 M10 Android 4.4.4 KitKat firmware is suitable only for SM-N9005 units. Go to Settings > General > About Phone > Model Number. Installing the firmware on other models can damage the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 should have 80 percent battery level or more before installing Android 4.4.4 KitKat update using custom ROM.

Create a backup of the data and settings stored on the Samsung Note 3 using ClockWorkMod or TWRP.

Install the appropriate USB drivers of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 on the computer so the Android device will easily connect with the PC during the installation process.

Enable USB Debugging mode.
