San Antonio Spurs Roster: NBA's Deepest Team Now Ready To Take On New Competitors For NBA Title

Nothing much has changed for the San Antonio Spurs roster sinceit won its fifth NBA title last June, and yet the Spurs remain as the favorites from the Western Conference to make a third straight trip to the NBA Finals.

However, while most of the teams in the West have retained their core groups, which mean that the Spurs will face the same starting fives for most of these teams, the East is a different story altogether.

The Indiana Pacers might have weakened due to Paul George's injury, but the Pacers can still make a decent run and hope their All-Star regains his strength to make them make a final push for the playoffs.

As for the Chicago Bulls, the team has now two All-Stars suiting up for the season, 2011 MVP Derrick Rose, and former LA big man Pau Gasol. These two players alone will give Chicago the much needed firepower it lacked in the last two season, where it was still able to pull off 40+ wins.

The addition of new shooters, rookies and the development of its younger players also make the Bulls a formidable and deep team.

Aside from the Bulls, Cleveland is also a threat for the Spurs as LeBron would surely want to avenge his defeat in last year's finals. In this year, he will have an entirely new team with an even better supporting cast.

Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, Shawn Marion, Mike Miller, James Jones and possible even Ray Allen would be the backups for LeBron, which should help the Cavs win in case they face the Spurs.

Lastly, Miami is still in the picture of a suprrise playoff run and even a trip to the Finals. In spite losing LeBron, many would argue that the Heat now have a better bench thanks to president Pat Riley.

With these three teams trying to quench their hunger for an NBA title, will the Spurs be able to hold them off?
