Minecraft Xbox One Edition Release Date Confirmed As Retail Version Will Be Shelves On November 2014! Will It Be Better Than The PS4 Version?

Sandbox indie game, Minecraft continues to see boom across multiple platforms it inhabits with its numerous versions receiving updates to ensure the fun and creative times keeps going. After Microsoft bought Mojang in a deal valued at a whopping $2.5 billion, many speculated what was Microsoft going to do with its newly purchased property. Xbox head, Phil Spencer assured that things will not change whether Xbox platform or not.

Microsoft made an announcement on its Xbox Wire news site about how people could get their hands on Minecraft: Xbox One Edition which is already a digital download. Further,  it revealed that that on November 18, 2014 the in-store retail version of the games will come to shelves. Also, the PS4 version's retail release is set for October 7, 2014.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition lets players transfer over their Xbox 360 saves along with most of their DLC for use in a 36 times larger next gen world. Though it wasn't detailed, probably the content that not able to be transferred are certain player skins which are not supported by the Xbox One version. Plus, those Xbox 360 players can upgrade to the Xbox One edition for $4.99. Its not a surprise that this is only applicable to the digital Xbox One version.

Apparently Minecraft is also coming to PS Vita after  Xbox One and PS4 this year. Developer of PS Vita Edition 4J Studios affirmed on Twitter that the PS Vita Edition is in the final stages. After the Xbox One retail announcement, 4J informed the fans that they wil share any future news regarding the Vita version because its released date is not yet confirmed.

The fact that Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is set for  retail release after the PS4 Edition especially considering the fact that both the property and its developer Mojang is now owned by Microsoft is a little surprising. Nevertheless, the retail releases are for people who prefer a gift to wrap for holidays or for those who want to own the physical discs. Although buying things digitally is extremely popular,  the latter still comprises of a decent number of people.

For $19.99, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will come to retail on November 18 2014. Watch out for the PS4 retails version on October 7.
