NBA Trade Rumors: Rajon Rondo, Paul Millsap, Thaddeus Young Are Trade Deadline Targets! Goran Dragic Also A Target But Phoenix Will Lock Top Point Guard!

Rajon Rondo is still the most likely player to be traded despite all the denials. The NBA trade rumors are on full scale, and the trade deadline will likely see old faces in new places.

According to Basketball Insiders:

"..a team should trade a player on an expiring contract rather than risk losing that player in free agency. Guys like Rajon Rondo, Goran Dragic, Paul Millsap and Thaddeus Young are the first potential trade targets that come to mind. All of those players could hit unrestricted free agency next offseason, so if their respective teams don't feel like they can re-sign them, it's very possible that they'll be shopped."

Another aspect is that their respective teams would not be willing to overpay these players. Rondo has been a target of the New York Knicks who will have tons of cap space at the end of the season. Paul Millsap, whom the Atlanta Hawks obtained for a 'bargain contract' will be a target of teams like the Knicks, Lakers and even the Rockets. With the controversy involving the Hawks, Millsap will likely look around.

Thaddeus Young is a player that's tired of losing, and with the recent trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves, this will be another lottery season for him. The Timberwolves will likely deal him for assets as he will definitely move when his contract expires.

Goran Dragic is also a possible unrestricted free agent, but the Phoenix Suns have become very aggressive in keeping their stars in the fold. They have recently signed Zoran Dragic, Goran's younger brother and teammate in the Slovenian National team that saw action in the recently concluded FIBA World Cup.

Bleacher Report says it's all about keeping Goran: "Zoran's arrival, however, is huge. Yes, it gives the Suns another guard they can add to their unrivaled collection; but he's also an asset they'll use to retain Goran, who can-and likely will-enter unrestricted free agency next summer."

Goran Dragic, even more than Eric Bledsoe, is the foundation of the Phoenix Suns. The Suns would not hesitate to offer a bigger contract to 'The Dragon' just to keep him.
