Ariana Grande MTV EMAs 2014: Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran Join Nicki Minaj at 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards

Ariana Grande MTV EMAs: Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran will perform at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards. The "Break Free" pop idol and the "Don't" singer will join Nicki Minaj, who will host the MTV EMAs live from the SSE Hydro arena in Glasgow, Scotland on Sunday, November 9.

In a statement, Ariana Grande said "I'm definitely looking forward to being part of the party onstage this year."

Gordon Matheson, who heads the Glasgow City Council and is the Chairman of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, said: "Today's exciting announcement that Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran - two of the biggest names in music - are to perform at the MTV EMA shows that our countdown to hosting one of the world's premier music events is really gathering pace."

Ariana is nominated in six different MTV EMA categories. Grande's "Problem," featuring Iggy Azalea, was nominated for Best Song. She was also nominated in the Best Pop, Best Female, Best New, Best Push and Biggest Fans categories.

Grande has the second-most nominations of any performer after Katy Perry. Nicki Minaj was nominated in four categories and will perform during the course of the evening. "Roar" singer Katy Perry has seven nominations. "Happy" singer Pharrell Williams and Australian act 5 Seconds of Summer are each nominated for five awards. Sheeran is nominated for a Best Male MTV EMA.

Sheeran is the biggest selling artist in the U.K. right now. Sheeran's new album, "X," overtook Coldplay to claim the biggest-selling album of the year.

Sheeran told his followers on Facebook, "I'm Ed Sheeran. I'm going to be performing this year at the EMAs in Glasgow. I've never been successful enough in Europe to be a part of it, and finally I am. I hear there's another female artist performing. She's got a few "Problems" and hangs out with rappers that might be a bit "Fancy."

The MTV EMAs will start in America with a live broadcast from Miami before the show is broadcast live.
